Sun Kissed Nails

Peach nails are undoubtedly my favourite for summer. Its bright and fun without being too vibrant, and it also goes great with most colours to wear and looks beautiful and healthy with a tan. My go-to colour this season is Maybelline's Super Stay 7 days gel nail colour in 'Sun Kissed'. I had never tried this formula before, but it has definitely superseded 7 days and my nails have remained practically chip free. It goes on really opaquely, and I really like the brush too as it is quite thick meaning you can do your nails in no time at all. I also really like how you can reapply this formula on top if there was a slight mark, (I always end up scratching my nails on something whilst drying!), yet when you reapply it doesn't get too thick and gloopy meaning you have to take it off and start all over. If your looking for a really nice bright summer shade that is built to last, then look no further.

What are your favourite summer nail shades?

Breakfast In Bed

I had been lusting after Rita Ora's nail polish collection for Rimmel for so long, and this shade 'Breakfast In Bed' was top of my list. I would class this shade as mint green, borderline baby blue. It appears more like a pastel mint in person than it translates in these photos, but nonetheless is a beautiful spring shade. Mint green nails are my ultimate favourite, and what could be more apt for spring? This shade is particularly beautiful as it has a really subtle shimmer running through it to create a really pretty effect. I painted my nails on Saturday and took these photographs today- there are no chips as of yet which is pretty great. I love the colour range and they do dry really fast, but I would apply a second coat even though it claims to need one coat only. My only problem was that I found the formula a little thick in applying two coats to the point where it messed up the previous coat if you know what I mean? It looks pretty good once dry though so I wouldn't bypass these. I also picked up the shade 'White Hot Love' which I can't wait to try as I adore white nails so much, especially this season.

Have you guys tried any of Rita's collection?

Barry M Gelly Nail Paint: 'Rose Hip'

If you haven't yet tried any of the Gelly range from Barry M, they have just brought out lots of new stunning colors perfect for this season. On one of my recent trips to Superdrug I came across this little beauty from Barry M. In terms of nail polish, for me I always revert back to Barry M, and especially this Gelly range which is seriously unbeatable stuff; super opaque after two coats, totally non gloopy, excellent shine and staying power. This shade immediately grabbed me as I found it to be incredibly similar to Essie's highly popular 'Figi'. For me, this is the perfect pink pastel neutral shade for spring and summer which I find so sophisticated and classic. It is the kind of shade to put on when you don't quite know which to choose, knowing that this beauty will most likely match anything. Due to the glossy formula, a top coat is not necessary as it provides a super shiny finish which lasts; I have been sporting this for around 4 days now with seriously no chips. I will be wearing this all throughout spring and I'm even considering this to be my holiday nail color. What's more, the name is seriously cute. At just £3.99 for what is essentially, a beautiful color and a top coat, this is seriously purse friendly and I'm already eyeing up the rest of the range which is simply stunning. This season also focuses on matching nails and lips, and this pink neutral shade is easily matched with minimal effort to be seriously on trend.

Seche Vite Topcoat

Until just the other week, I had no idea what 'Seche Vite' was. When I discovered that it was allegedly the worlds best top coat, I knew I had to have it. I absolutely love wearing nail polish and I love taking care of my nails, but until now I had never given much thought into using a top coat. What attracted me to this was the claim that it dries pretty much instantly, which I think any nail polish lover would jump at because one of the worst things is waiting for them to dry, which can sometimes be ages. If your like me and find it hard to keep still, you will have to buy this. We've all been there were you apply the most perfect nail polish coating ever; no clumps, marks, mess whatsoever until bam, you go and touch it to see if its dry and mess it up completely. Or worse, start using your hands and get the entire set ruined. The worst for me was painting my nails perfectly late at night, waiting a bit, going to bed, and waking up with completely imprinted nails.. SO I had to have this top coat when it promised to dry instantly.

It is acknowledged widely as the worlds finest top coat as its formula allows it to penetrate through the polish right through to the base coat, forming a single solid coating over the nail plate for a much more durable finish which is guaranteed not to yellow. It promises that your nails will absolutely not chip, feel silky and stronger, and create a high gloss shine that is longer lasting than any product on the market today. It also says you can use it straight away after putting nail varnish on without letting it dry which, If I'm honest, was quite skeptical about.

I let my nail polish dry for a few seconds whilst moving onto the other hand, then came back instantly to apply the top coat. The nail varnish I'm wearing by the way if from No7 Stay Perfect Nail colour. It is a gorgeous rich purple pink colour which is an exact match to MAC Rebel lipstick. I applied a thick coat of Seche Vite over this colour and was surprised to see that it glided over the tacky nail without dragging or streaking the underneath coat. What's more, it instantly gave my nails a super glossy, professional finish which is still shining. As regards to chipping, It has certainly stopped them from chipping and kept my coat lasting a lot longer. What I think is best about this top coat is definitely the shine, it really does make a difference to enhance the quality of the finished manicure.

I purchased Seche Vite topcoat on Amazon for £6. It is also available on feel unique but it is £10 there so definitely check it out on Amazon if your looking for an incredible, long lasting and super glossy top coat; you can check it out here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Seche-Vite-Professional-Coat-14ml/dp/B00150LT40/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1365869140&sr=8-1&keywords=seche+vite

Cappuccino Nails

Seen as my last post was such a lengthy one, this is just a quick nail look which I have been loving at the moment. I think it is such an ideal shade for this period, whilst we are coming to the end of winter, but not yet ready to sport the bright spring trends. From Barry M, this is in shade 341 entitled 'Cappuccino'. I would describe this unusual, muted shade as a neutral beige coffee colour, but with noticeable taints of lilac. After two coats however, the cappuccino colour really does come through. This makes it a bit different to a typical, somewhat dull beige, giving a bit of life to your fingertips. What I love most about this shade is how it will go with almost anything. I know I can wear this shade and feel free to match it with any outfit- always an added bonus! Barry M are renown for their nail polishes as they are always of such great quality and have such a diverse range of colours. The have excellent staying power and leave your nails chip free for weeks, especially if you add a topcoat over the top to seal it. What's more at £2.99 a bottle, these polishes are super inexpensive, making it incredibly easy to build an extensive collection!
